It is by no accident that Summit Wool Spinners is situated in the heart of the sheep-farming region, in the South Island of New Zealand. This close contact with our farming region has helped ensure a valuable and beneficial long-term relationship for both Summit & the farmers.

A majority of Summit's raw wool supply is purchased direct from selected farmers. By providing this guaranteed outlet, the farmer can breed, mature and shear their sheep to specific requirements to produce the best characteristics of wool for further processing and overall performance of the product.

Furthermore, because it is produced as a premium product in its own right (and not just as a by-product) New Zealand farmers pay close attention to wool production and handling, utilising advanced techniques in genetic management, breeding and animal husbandry in order to ensure the highest fleece quality.

Summit has a customised computer blending system which helps to ensure consistent quality blends on an on-going basis.
