New Zealand's largest independent yarn spinner
Summit Wool Spinners Ltd is New Zealand's largest independent spinner supplying top quality carpet and rug yarn for both domestic and international markets.

Close access to the best wool in the world
Located in the 'heart of Wool growing country', in the South Island of New Zealand, Summit Wool Spinners can take advantage of it's close access to the best wool in the world and to the nearby ports that provide regular shipping services to the rest of the world.

Both the environmental & climatic conditions experienced in New Zealand help promote the growing of wool that is internationally recognised for its uniformity and superior quality. It is clean & white, with consistent colour, boasts an absence of dark fibres, displays low levels of vegetable matter & medullation, and is of a length & strength that is essential for efficient and successful processing.

A century of local skills and expertise
Started in 1881 by local farmers and businessmen, the Summit Factory has a proud heritage of more than a century of local skills and expertise in blending, spinning and yarn making. Since its inception, Summit has continued to be committed to advancement through actively initiating and participating in the development of new technologies.

Committed to the development of new technologies
The introduction of our second generation Twistset ™ machine offers both ourselves and carpet manufacturers a competitive edge through 'locking the twist' in the yarn which results in the production of carpet with considerably enhanced properties.

Combined with the introduction of robotic machinery and two-for-one twisting, Summit has enhanced its operation and now provides additional flexibility in the product ranges it offers and increased production capacity available. Summit now has in excess of 5 million kilograms (11 million pounds) available for distribution worldwide.

Coupled with the skills of our staff, many with a very long term association, and our ease of access to quality testing, research and development, it is easy to see why Summit is achieving such an outstanding record for quality that is recognised in international markets.

As a specialist in the field of yarn production through both woollen and semi-worsted spun processes, Summit produces a complete cross-section of yarns for both carpets and rugs. This includes Axminster, Wilton, Hand and Machine tuft and Hand knotting products. We have built an international reputation for our colour matching and mixing of our heather and berber blends.

Summit Wool Spinners remains focused on QUALITY, beginning with sourcing the raw material direct from the farm through to the final delivery of the yarn to the customer.
